Motor Protection Relay
Motor Protection and Control Relay: Purpose and Function
The MPS3000 Motor Protection and Control Relay provides comprehensive protection, monitoring, and control for three-phase induction motors. It is ideally suited for medium voltage motor applications, monitoring three-phase current and voltage while supporting up to 10 RTD and thermistor temperature inputs for advanced motor protection.
Precise Measurement and Control
The MPS3000 measures True RMS voltage and current with a sampling rate of 0.5 ms, ensuring fast and accurate fault detection. This high-speed measurement capability allows seamless integration with electronic motor control equipment, including soft starters, providing reliable motor control and protection.
Comprehensive Protection Functions
AC motors are often required to operate close to their rated limits, leaving little margin for abnormal operating conditions. The MPS3000 incorporates a comprehensive range of protection functions and advanced thermal modeling to accurately monitor motor operating conditions, enabling safe operation while protecting against potential damage.
The relay safeguards the motor against abnormal voltage conditions, motor and wiring faults, overloads, phase imbalance, ground faults, and operator errors, helping to maximize equipment availability and extend motor service life.
MPS3000 Inputs and Monitoring Capabilities
The MPS3000 monitors three-phase voltage, three-phase current, ground fault current, up to 10 temperature inputs, four analog inputs, and four optically isolated programmable digital inputs. Its flexible configuration and comprehensive monitoring capabilities make it suitable for a wide range of industrial motor protection and control applications.
